Melty Ash

It has been feeling ridiculously warm recently (maybe because it’s Summer or something, who can say?) and all I can think of is melting. So, here we go.
Ash from Pokémon melting into a puddle.

You may be asking yourself “but Odd, why didn’t you make Ash turn into a pile of Ash, there’s a joke right in his name”. Look, you aren’t wrong, but it’s my website and I wanted melty Ash.

MEOWTH used PAYDAY!

When playing Pokémon games, I have always been fond of training Meowth, and it is almost entirely due to the fact that they can generate an infinite amount of cash. It might not mean much now, but when I was younger this was super important and a huge deal in the original games as there was a limited amount of trainers to battle and cash you could earn. You couldn’t replay battles, with the exception of the Elite Four, and as a player that was just awful for wanting to collect everything and be terrible at the game at the same time, it made having a Meowth essential. I’m a better player now, but if Meowth is available I will catch it and abuse Payday, the move exclusive to them.

I’ve been playing Pokémon Sun again recently, and I noticed that the animation looks like it straight up vomits money at the opponent. And so, here we are, the embodiment of every Meowth I have ever caught, spewing an endless amount money.

“Meowth! That’s right!”

I feel like I shouldn’t have to put this, however to ensure that everyone fully understands I state the following: this is fan parody art based on intellectual property owned by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. I do not own the character Meowth of any other character related to the series. This work is intended for entertainment and does not represent the work created as part of the Pokémon series. I have created and own this image, and as such if you wish to share this please feel free to do so and credit the original artist (Doododds) and/or provide a link to the original content.

Dragon Handle – The Seven Deadly Sins

It may come of no surprise that, along with being interested in games and gaming culture, I also have an interest in animation from both Eastern and Western cultures. At 31 years old, I have clearly grown up.

Anyway, the design above is one of the Dragon Handle, from The Seven Deadly Sins anime/manga, originally kept by the main protagonist and Dragon sin of Wrath, Meliodas.

As personal preference, I’m not actually a big fan of the series, however I have nothing against it and in particular I find the design of this item interesting, as a simplified, looped dragon, and being used as a handle for a sword. I hope you agree, whether you choose to dive into the series or not, this item at least looks pretty cool!
